01 The short version
A summary in plain English — the rest of this page is the legal version.
Athmane lets you build apps by chatting with an AI. You describe what you want; we build, host, and keep it running. You own the apps you make. We provide the tools, hosting, and AI that turn your prompts into a working product.
Don't use Athmane to do things that are illegal, abusive, or that infringe someone else's rights. Pay your invoice on time, and either of us can end the agreement at any time. That's the gist.
02 Definitions
A few words we'll use throughout this document.
03 Your account
One account per person — keep it secure and tell us the truth.
To use Athmane you need an account. You sign in with your email; we send you a one-time link. Keep your email secure — anyone with access to it can sign in as you.
You must be at least 16 years old to use Athmane. You agree to give us accurate information when you sign up and to keep it current. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account, including any teammates you invite.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. On termination, we provide a reasonable grace period to export your data before it is permanently deleted.
04 Using Athmane
What you can — and can't — do with the Service.
You agree not to use Athmane to build, host, or distribute apps that:
- Generate, host, or distribute illegal content (CSAM, copyrighted material you don't own, malware, fraud);
- Send spam or unsolicited bulk messaging;
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, security measures, or billing controls;
- Reverse-engineer the AI models or attempt to extract their weights;
- Compete directly with athmane.com using the Service;
- Use generated content to harass, defame, or harm others.
We reserve the right to suspend accounts that abuse the Service in ways not explicitly listed here. Where the violation is clear and severe, we'll act immediately and report to the relevant authorities.
The Acceptable Use Policy states these rules in full, with concrete examples and the process for reporting a violating app. It forms part of these Terms and binds you exactly as the numbered sections do; where it is more specific than the list above, the Policy governs. If you use the Service to collect or store personal data belonging to your own end users, the Data Processing Addendum also forms part of these Terms and governs how we process that data on your behalf.
05 Your content & apps
You own what you make. We need a narrow license to host it.
You own your content and the apps you build with Athmane. We don't claim any rights in your business, your customers, your data, or the products you ship.
You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, display, and process your content solely to operate the Service and to provide it to you. The license ends when you delete the content or close your account, except where we're required by law to retain it for a limited period.
Backups & portability
You can export the source of your apps at any time from the dashboard, and your app's data from its Database tab. Export is the only way to get content back — deleting is immediate and final, and we cannot restore a deleted app, project or row for you. Our own encrypted infrastructure backups exist for disaster recovery, not as a safety net for you; a deleted item can linger in them for at most three days before it is gone from those too.
06 AI-generated output
Athmane uses large language models. Here's what that means for you.
When you prompt Athmane, our AI generates code, copy, and design choices. Those outputs are yours to use, modify, and distribute commercially. We don't claim ownership of generated output and we don't watermark it.
AI is imperfect. Generated output may occasionally be incorrect, incomplete, or similar to publicly available material. You're responsible for reviewing what you publish — the same as if you had written it yourself. We strongly recommend testing payment flows, contact forms, and any compliance-sensitive features before going live.
Training
We do not use your prompts, your content, or your customers' data to train our models, and we don't sell your data to model providers. Read the Privacy Policy for the full picture on data handling.
07 Plans & payment
Subscription plans, billed in advance.
Athmane offers a free tier and paid plans. Paid plans are billed in advance by the payment method on file. Taxes are added where required by law. The exact features, limits, and pricing of each plan are described on our pricing page.
We may change pricing from time to time. If we do, we'll give you advance notice before the change applies to your account, and your existing prepaid period won't be affected.
Failed payments
If a payment fails we'll retry, then notify you. If we can't collect within a reasonable grace period we may suspend the workspace. We don't delete data during suspension; we just pause the apps until you're current.
08 Cancellation (no refunds)
Cancel any time. All sales are final.
You can cancel from the workspace billing page. Cancellation stops the next renewal — your apps keep running until the end of the period you've already paid for.
All charges are final and non-refundable. This applies uniformly to every product on Athmane:
- Subscriptions — monthly and annual subscription fees are non-refundable. We do not refund partial periods, unused months on annual plans, or the time between cancellation and the end of your paid period.
- Top-up credits — once a top-up purchase succeeds, the credits are issued to your workspace and the charge is final, whether or not any of those credits have been used. Purchased top-up credits never expire: they persist until consumed, including across monthly cycle resets, plan changes, and cancellation.
- Team seats — if you remove a seat mid-cycle, billing stops at the next renewal. The partial-period payment already collected for that seat is not refunded and does not roll over.
- No goodwill exceptions. Support cannot grant case-by-case refunds. Athmane is priced and structured around this policy.
If your bank or card issuer reverses a charge through Stripe (chargeback or dispute), the corresponding credits and access tied to that charge are revoked at the same time. This is fraud-defence, not a refund pathway.
Questions about your account or a billing detail can go to [email protected], but please don't ask for a refund — we will not be able to grant one.
Your 14-day withdrawal right, and how it ends
If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, the law gives you 14 days to withdraw from a distance purchase without giving a reason. We are not taking that away, and nothing above overrides it.
For a digital service that starts immediately, that right ends once we begin delivering — but only if you asked us to start straight away and understood what it cost you. So at checkout we ask you to confirm two things, in one tick:
- you want your subscription, credits or seats available immediately, rather than after 14 days; and
- you understand that once we start, your 14-day withdrawal right is gone.
That tick is not a formality and it is not pre-checked. Until you give it we cannot start, and if you would rather keep the 14 days, do not tick it — write to [email protected] and we will arrange the purchase so the period runs.
If you are within an unexpired withdrawal period — you have not ticked, and we have not started — you may withdraw by telling us in any clear statement, and we refund within 14 days by the means you paid. Once you have ticked and we have started, the policy above applies in full.
Buying as a business — a company, or anyone purchasing for their trade or profession — has no withdrawal right in the first place, and this section does not apply to you.
09 Warranties & disclaimers
The legally required all-caps section, in regular case.
Athmane is provided “as is.” We aim for high availability and good results, but we don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI outputs will be accurate or fit for a particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions don't allow these disclaimers, in which case they apply to the fullest extent permitted.
10 Limitation of liability
A cap on what either of us can claim.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — lost profits, lost data, business interruption — arising from this agreement, even if we knew the damage was possible.
Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid us in the period preceding the claim. We are not liable for losses caused by outages of third-party providers, loss of data due to your action (deletion, account closure), or AI-generated content errors — the AI is non-deterministic; verify before deploying generated code to production.
Nothing in this section limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or anything that can't be limited under applicable law.
11 Indemnification
What you cover if someone brings a claim about what you built.
You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your Inputs, your Output, the apps you publish, or your breach of these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, to the extent permitted by law.
This is the counterpart to owning what you make: you decide what your app does, who it serves and what data it collects, and we have no way to review that before it goes live. It does not cover a claim arising from our own breach of these terms.
12 Changes to these terms
We may update this page; we'll let you know.
We may revise these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll email the address on your account in advance of the change taking effect, and we'll post a dated change log on this page. Continuing to use Athmane after the effective date means you accept the new terms.
